Another thing I noticed was that they had a scene where the main character used something they called black skin foundation? I don't even have to explain why this is wrong. She also just isn't overweight? Like? Ok so there's a lot more I'd like to say about that but okay. It's just so insensitive to tell her all the time. And even if she were they didn't have to continously talk to her about it. Like just because she gained a small amount of weight doesn't mean she's overweight. Some examples would be the bodyshaming and the toxic body standards. My reasoning however is that there were various moments in the manga that I disagreed with. I feel like it might be confusing why after all these good ratings I'm rating it this low. I enjoyed seeing the main characters getting closer. There wasn't really characters that I disliked. I personally thought that the story was interesting and I did like reading it. I don't really have anything to say about it. I like the way the characters are designed. The drawing style was cute and the main characters are likeable. And like I said, it seems that in the later development the cosplaying aspect takes the focus (at least partially) and pushes the romance a bit more into the background.įirst of all I'd like to say that I understand why people like this. Their feelings become quite apparent already in the early development, however they really take their time getting closer to each other. Especially throughout the later development of the story, cosplaying becomes a more and more apparent main theme.Īs for the romance aspect of it, it is rather slow. The manga takes some tangents when it comes to clothes and cosplay, so if you are absolutely not interested in The female lead goes against every stereotype of a gyaru, and does not show any restraint when it comes to showing what she likes, thus being able to completely nerd out over some things. Even though they sound so extremely different, they click so incredibly well with each other, and I just love their interactions throughout the entire manga. Take two polar opposites, an open, outgoing and stylish gyaru, and an easily flustered, shy, old-fashioned outsider who is into doll- and clothes-making. Thus, although polar opposites, their relationship slowly blossoms through their aptitude in helping each other in the intricate world of cosplay.įunny, loveable characters, slow-ish development. Now, as he is dragged along to the charming girl's endless cosplay-related affairs, Kitagawa becomes his first friend who fully accepts him. However, Kitagawa cannot sew her own costumes, leading her to seek Gojou's expertise. Instantly, she shares with Gojou her own hobby: she likes to cosplay as characters from erotic video games. His finesse with the sewing machine is soon discovered by his beautiful classmate Marin Kitagawa, whose boldness and honesty Gojou both admires and envies. Gojou has yet to perfect his crafting of dolls' faces, but is exceptionally skilled at making their clothes. Harboring painful memories of a childhood friend's disdain toward his interest, Gojou cannot relate to his classmates and their pastimes, eventually isolating himself. Gojo may be new to romance like Marin, but his overall approach currently appears more effective than hers, and it shows. As of My Dress-Up Darling's Season 1 finale, it's Marin's turn to catch up.EditSynopsis Engrossed in the family business of traditional doll making, Wakana Gojou is a reserved high school freshman without friends. Marin isn't just background noise at school - she feels real to Gojo, and forming a relationship with her is scary, exciting and intriguing all at once. She is dazzling, exciting and bright, just like fireworks, and Gojo needs to see her up close to realize how wonderful a person she is. Marin is Gojo's first serious female friend and, potentially, his first proper girlfriend and love interest. They were just background noises in the summer, but now the fireworks take on a whole new meaning as Gojo has stepped into a new world. In years past, Gojo had simply watched the fireworks from the comfort of his bedroom window, and they looked and sounded so distant. A later scene in Episode 12 proves this when Gojo finally attends a summer festival to watch the fireworks, which he greatly enjoys. By contrast, Gojo is getting more used to his new relationship with Marin than ever, and no matter the fan service, he's becoming more stable and confident with everything. Your points about living wages, fair pay for voice actors etc. It's suspect to me she's now saying she just wants the fiasco to stop without providing receipts. She's already broke her NDA so why not provide the emails proving her claim of only $4000 being offered in total? If she's in the right, prove it. I'm just not believing her and only her, especially after two news outlets confirmed the legitimacy of claims/documents showing she was offered 3 or 4 times what she claimed. If you think there's no lessons to be learned here, I think that speaks volumes. More generally, your security in a host-based encryption system is no better than having no crypto at all.ĮDITED TO ADD (8/14): As a result of this, CryptoCat is moving to a browser plug-in model. This means that in practice, CryptoCat is no more secure than Yahoo chat, and Hushmail is no more secure than Gmail. I’ll detail it below, but the short version is if you use one of these applications, your security depends entirely the security of the host. Unfortunately, these tools are subject to a well-known attack. The most famous tool in this group is Hushmail, an encrypted e-mail service that takes the same approach. Ryan Singel, the editor (not the writer) of the Wired piece, responded by defending the original article and attacking Soghoian.Īt this point, I would have considered writing a long essay explaining what’s wrong with the whole concept behind Cryptocat, and echoing my complaints about the dangers of uncritically accepting the security claims of people and companies that write security software, but Patrick Ball did a great job:ĬryptoCat is one of a whole class of applications that rely on what’s called “host-based security”. After Wired published a pretty fluffy profile on the program and its author, security researcher Chris Soghoian wrote an essay criticizing the unskeptical coverage. Cryptocat is a web-based encrypted chat application. |
